ANTHONY HENDAY’S LIFE
Anthony’s life started as a child in England .When he got older he moved to Canada where he was hired by the HBC.He was a confident person because when he got hired he traveled the Saskatchewan River. To persuade the first nations to bring fur to the trading posts in Hudson Bay co. It was a hard job and he did not succeed and was not rewarded.befor he started he was a fishermen.

He must have believed in traveling because he did it a lot. Boating because he did it a lot to go to places. Animals because he used them. Making connections because of the first nations. Rivers because he used them on his travels. Learning because he needed to learn their language.
THE FUR TRADE
The French built the first fur trading posts in eastern Canada. At that time, the First Nations brought their furs from the interior. They traded with the Europeans for pots, guns, knives and cloth. The beaver skins were made into top hats and sold in Europe. The top hats where the most expensive in that time.
In 1670, the King of England gave the Hudson’s Bay Company permission to trade in what was known as Rupert’s Land. This area covered about a third of Canada. They built forts at the mouths of rivers which drained into the Hudson Bay. The other fur traders and First Nations were not included in this decision.
In 1754, Anthony Henday was hired by the Hudson’s Bay Company to travel up the Saskatchewan to persuade First Nations to bring their buffalo furs and much more to the trading posts of the Hudson’s Bay. He went further west than any other European explorer which shows he was very adventurous
