In the 1900’s more people came to Canada from worldwide because there was a lot of land for farmers to farm on.mennoniys, Icelander, Mormons, hutterites and French. Dutch, germen, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swiss and Norwegian. Ukrainian, Romanian, polish, Hungarian people came to Alberta. The times of the 1900’s rich people had handmade houses because they had a lot of money. That is when the cites, shops, business and communities started. The poor people lived in tents, soddies which is small houses and sod for the rooftop.

Guy Weadick started the Calgary Stampede the next Calgary Stampede only took place after the World War
1. The Calgary Stampede happens every year at the start of July to July 10. He had a wife called Florence Ladue. He was almost like a circus performer who did rope tricks in a 15 western act.
He was quite popular in the United States and Europe, and a local superstar in Calgary. He traveled to Calgary where he met H.C. McMullen a livestock agent for the Canadian pacific railway. Both of them started a show
that would be a cowboy show. It would also celebrate the ranchers and the old west people. He needed $100 000 to make the Calgary Stampede happen. The Championship money (which is what the winners would get if they won)
was $20 000. Thefirst Calgary Stampede started September 2-7, 1912. Two thousand Natives took part in the Stampede parade.
