Central Idea: The changes that occur when cultures collide can be viewed through many perspectives. Central Idea: By exploring and expressing our identity, we can recognize that there is diversity all around us.
People from many countries all over the world heard about free farmland in a country called Canada. The land was cheap and all you had to do was get there. Many people crossed the sea by boat, and then when they got to Canada they boarded the CPR railway and went further out to provinces like B.C., Alberta and Saskatchewan. They settled and formed small communities with farms nearby and stores. We should learn about it because it is an important part of our history. If they did not come, Canada would not be on the map today. We should recognize the change makers who made our lives easier today.
